Use the official product title and objectives

Adobe lists Product and Experience Design with AI Using Adobe Firefly as an Adobe Certified Professional offering. Its official page links the exam guide and current versions and languages. Use that route to confirm the actual appointment when older topic listings refer to ACA_1000V; a third-party code should not replace the issuer’s title and version information.

The objectives extend beyond generating an attractive image. Adobe includes AI concepts, design concepts, ideation and practical creative decisions. Preparation should therefore show why an output fits a brief and how it was refined. A single fortunate generation is weak evidence of a repeatable professional workflow.

Define a brief that can be evaluated

For an original practice case, design a fictional museum’s campaign for an evening exhibition. Specify the audience, desired action, tone, required text, formats and accessibility needs. Identify approved brand colours and what must remain factually accurate. The brief should make it possible to reject an attractive image that fails the job.

Collect permitted visual references and record what each contributes: lighting, composition, material or mood. Separate reference inspiration from permission to reproduce protected material. Confirm any restrictions on confidential client information before entering it into a creative tool. Keep these decisions with the project so another designer can understand the context.

Develop concepts before polishing

Produce several concept directions, such as an architectural detail, an artefact study and an abstract interpretation. Explain how each connects to the audience and exhibition. Compare their suitability for text placement, small screens and the required tone before spending time refining a favourite.

Use a mood board or structured concept sheet to make the alternatives comparable. A successful direction is one that supports the communication task, not simply the most visually complex output. Record the reason for selection and retain a rejected direction with a short explanation; this demonstrates judgement as well as tool use.

Iterate prompts and composition deliberately

Write a prompt that states the subject, setting, visual treatment and composition constraints. Generate variants and change one important element at a time. Record whether a revision improved the intended message, made space for typography or corrected an unwanted detail. Repeatedly regenerating without a reason can hide the absence of a design decision.

Check the tool and model capabilities available in the version you are using. When a task requires precise typography, factual diagrams or consistent brand elements, plan the appropriate editing and production steps. Do not assume every requirement should be solved inside the initial generated image. Preserve an editable workflow where the final deliverable requires later changes.

Review quality, responsibility and accessibility

Inspect hands, objects, architectural details and any text-like marks for errors. Compare the work with the brief rather than judging it only at thumbnail size. Check contrast, hierarchy, text size and the needs of the intended formats. Add required captions or other accessible content through the appropriate production process.

Document the source of reference material, the tools used and the review performed. Model availability and usage terms can vary, so confirm applicable conditions before client release. Avoid claiming that use of a generative tool removes every copyright, privacy or contractual question. The designer remains responsible for making an informed release decision.

Rehearse a complete design handover

Create the final practice asset together with the brief, concept comparisons, revision log and export specification. Explain which output was generated, which was edited and how the result was checked. Ask a reviewer to identify the intended message and action without seeing your process notes.

Use the official objectives to identify weak areas, including design research and fundamentals rather than only prompting. Complete authorised preparation and the assessment yourself. For a portfolio or interview, the valuable story is how you translated a requirement into a useful, reviewable outcome and what you would change after testing it with the audience.
