Use the issuer’s route rather than a guessed launch page

ISACA’s current CISA information describes authorised PSI test centres and remotely proctored exams. A generic Pearson VUE tutorial is therefore not the correct launch procedure for a CISA or CISM appointment. Start from your own ISACA account and follow the scheduling link associated with the registered exam.

ISACA’s remote guide directs candidates through the exam-management area to the testing provider. Confirm your appointment, delivery mode, local time and eligibility window there. An exam purchase receipt is not the same thing as a scheduled appointment.

Prepare registration and identity separately

Compare your ISACA profile and identification well before the appointment. Review accepted identification, name-matching requirements and any country-specific restrictions in the current guide. Resolve discrepancies through support rather than hoping the proctor will accept an exception.

For fees, check member and nonmember pricing, applicable taxes and currency conversion directly. Budget a potential retake separately. A third party offering to sit the exam for you or promising a guaranteed pass is not a substitute for legitimate registration and preparation.

Test the actual computer and location

Run the provider’s current compatibility check on the computer and network you plan to use. Verify installation permission, camera, microphone and connection reliability. A successful check on a personal laptop says nothing about a locked-down work device.

Prepare a private room, clear the desk and prevent interruptions. Follow the current permitted-items instructions rather than borrowing rules from another exam programme. If your computer or location cannot comply, consider the test-centre option instead of disabling organisational security protections.

Follow check-in and proctor instructions

Open the appointment through the issuer-approved route at the allowed time. Complete identification and environment checks as instructed. Keep unauthorised notes, devices and other people out of the testing area. Request clarification through the permitted proctor channel before doing something uncertain.

Do not assume that break, food, scratch-work or calculator rules match another certification you have taken. The applicable candidate guide and appointment instructions control. Arrange accommodations through the official process before the appointment; a proctor cannot necessarily create them during check-in.

Handle a launch failure without losing evidence

Record the appointment reference, the non-confidential error, its time and the stage at which the problem occurred. Use the provider’s authorised support route. Avoid repeatedly switching devices, networks or accounts during an active appointment without instruction.

If the examination has started, do not capture questions or answer content while documenting an issue. Keep technical evidence separate from protected exam material. Ask support about the case reference and follow-up process; a technical failure does not automatically imply a refund or a free new attempt.

The final preparation checkpoint

Before the day, verify four independent items: learning readiness, appointment details, identification and technical/environment compliance. A high practice score cannot compensate for missing identification, and a working camera cannot compensate for an incomplete study plan.

Can CertMatrix or another training provider guarantee approval at check-in? No. The issuer and testing provider administer the rules. Use preparation support for legitimate learning, booking guidance and technical rehearsal, and take the assessment yourself.
